The National History Club explores historical events and ideas in a variety of fun ways.  We take field trips, watch movies, have parties, discuss history and encourage participation in historical essay competitions and historical projects.  We are part of a national chapter.  The National History Club's goals are to build the reading, research, communication and other skills students need to become competent citizens and leaders by inspiring large numbers of secondary school students to implement and participate in history-related programs.  Everyone is welcome!

SOCIAL STUDIES MISSION

The mission of the Parkway School District is to reach and teach each student, all students, every day…together.  This mission is supported by a strong and consistent commitment that all students meet high academic standards in preparation for responsible participation as citizens in a democratic society.  Social studies education in the Parkway School District provides the core knowledge and skills to prepare each of our students for their role in a democratic society.

We offer a diverse curriculum which introduces students to the great histories of our city (The History of St. Louis), our country (Modern U.S. History, History of the American West) and our world (World History, Challenges to Democracy). We offer electives in the social sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Honors Micro/Macro Economics, and Crime and the Law) which leads students in a fascinating examination into all things human.

We are proud to provide students with 4 AP (Advanced Placement) courses which offers the opportunity for students to earn college credit by taking AP tests in May. These courses include AP US History, AP Modern European History, AP Government and Politics- US, and AP Government and Politics- Comparative.
